Become part of our Global Marine Logistics team
As part of the global WML organization, reporting to the Managing director, our new Manager Commercial plays a pivotal role as the enabler of growth — defining target customers, identifying opportunities, and transforming them into success stories. From market analysis to lead generation, you are the driving force supporting the organization to design the best solutions, price them correctly, and present them convincingly to potential customers.
Once we win the business, you will initiate the onboarding process — orchestrating every detail with precision and passion. You will establish and lead the Commercial function, directing Key Account Directors to identify the right opportunities and take ownership of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs. In close collaboration with our global branches and the Control Tower, you will develop tailored logistics solutions, recommend competitive pricing, and craft impactful customer presentations outlining our unique capabilities. Your expertise ensures the seamless integration of new business — every handover will be smooth, scalable, and leave a lasting positive impression with customers.
The position can be based in one of our offices in Aalborg, Rotterdam, or Copenhagen — or performed remotely within a similar time zone. The role includes international travel of approximately 25%, connecting you with customers, partners, and colleagues across our global network.
More specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Shape the Future: Establish and grow the Commercial function within the global WML organization — your work will lay the foundation for growth journey
- Drive Growth: Take a hands-on role in identifying opportunities, developing solutions and closing customer contracts while ensuring sustainable growth in both revenue and earnings, in close collaboration with the global Network
- Own the Journey: With your market knowledge, you drive opportunities from market rumors to the final handover, you’ll take full ownership of the Business Initiation process — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
- Customer-First Mindset: Actively listen to and deeply understand customer needs before crafting tailored logistics solutions — always choosing the best-fit location for implementation
- Design with Precision: In collaboration with the global Network you create the most effective, value-driven solution and define pricing that reflects both quality and competitiveness, tailored around the customers’ needs
- Present with Impact: Team up with Senior Management to present solutions that not only resonate but inspire confidence and long-term partnership
- Lead with Care: Initiate customer implementation processes and support smooth transitions in to the global Network — ensuring continuity and customer satisfaction
- Build Partnerships: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with external stakeholders and other Wrist business units, working as one connected team
- Act as a Champion for WML: Represent WML’s interests internally & externally, actively supporting strategic alignment with senior leadership
- Think Bigger: Help align WML’s goals with broader group strategies — from M&A and People to ESG and IT — contributing to a unified and forward-thinking organization

Qualifications & Requirements
Preferably, you have an educational background within business, logistics, or a related field — at minimum at a bachelor level — combined with at least five years of demonstrated experience within Marine Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or the broader logistics industry.
Moreover, we expect you to bring the following qualifications:
- Solid understanding of the marine logistics market and its operational dynamics.
- Proven ability to work both strategically and hands-on across commercial processes.
- Fluent in English, both in daily communication and negotiations.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical mindset with a structured approach to market opportunities and pricing.
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills.
